Life of Pi

Just finished a book called Life of Pi, by Yann Martel.

I ‘borrowed’ this book from my sis, I picked it up because of the design and striking illustration. It has actually won the Man Booker Prize in 2002 so thought would give it a go.

‘Brilliant read’ is my conclusion, I am not going to tell you all about it but because of the way its written I kept forgetting its fiction and believing this boy went through these emotions and saw these sites. Funny in parts emotional in others, this plus the superb illustrations by Tomislav Torjanac (who won a competition for the honor) creates a fine story and is esthetically top draw.

‘ After the tragic sinking of a cargo ship, one solitary lifeboat remains bobbing on the wild, blue Pacific. The only survivors from the wreck are a sixteen-year-old boy named Pi, a hyena, a zebra with a broken leg, a female orang-utan- and a 450 -pound Royal Bengal tiger.

Review an interesting book and I will post it here (within reason!!)
